The Fulbright Scholarship is offering scholarship opportunities to Austrians who are seeking a Master’s degree in the United States. One or two-year master programs are supported.

Candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree at an accredited university or university of applied sciences, or at the time of the application, shortly before graduation.

ABOUT THE SPONSOR :

Fulbright is  a Foreign Student Program that enables graduate students, young professionals and artists from abroad to study and conduct research in the United States at U.S. universities or other academic institutions. it was designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States  and the people of other countries.

The participants are chosen based on their academic merit and leadership potential – with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. The Fulbright Program is an important element of the United States’ bilateral relationships with countries around the world. U.S. and foreign governments jointly set priorities for the exchanges.

What You Need To Know About Fulbright Austrian Student Program in USA

LEVEL/ FIELD OF STUDY

Scholarships are available for masters degree programme in the following field of study: These include

    1. Business and Management (MBA and related programs)
    2. LLM programs
    3. Human and veterinary medicine and pharmacy

HOST NATIONALITY:

Scholarship is taken in any university in USA

ELIGIBLE NATIONALITY:

Students with Austrian citizenship can apply for this Fulbright scholarship.

Scholarship Benefits: 

  • Study cost and life expectancy allowances of up to USD 25,000 for one-year programs, or up to USD 12,500 per year for two-year programs
  • Euro 800 grant
  • Take over the costs of a health and accident insurance

Who Is Eligible For The Fulbright Austrian Student Program: 

  • Austrian citizenship (Austrian citizenship [Austria-USA] can not be included in the program due to the program guidelines.)
  • Candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree at an accredited university or university of applied sciences, or at the time of the application, shortly before graduation.
  • Bachelor’s degree: completed by 1 October 2018 (graduation may be accepted by 30 October 2018).
  • Diploma Theses: Graduation by May 1, 2019 at the latest.
  • In principle, Master Programs at accredited US institutions are eligible for the Fulbright Study Scholarship. “Professional degrees” are not promoted within the framework of the Fulbright program: These include: Business and Management (MBA and related programs), LLM programs and Human and veterinary medicine and pharmacy
  • In case of documented academic interest or relevant professional experience, programs in public administration, affairs and / or policy (MPA / MPP), non-profit management, constitutional law, human rights law, public international law, legal theory and philosophy , As well as public health or non-clinical medicine.
  • Scholarships can not be awarded for study places for which applicants have applied outside the Fulbright Program or ongoing studies.
  • Candidates who are qualified to apply for a Fulbright Scholarship for scholars (scholars and professionals) on the basis of their previous academic and professional achievements are excluded from an application for the Fulbright Study Fellowship.
  • Candidates who already had a Fulbright scholarship for students, a scholarship from the BMWF for the postgraduate area (with the exception of internships), a Schrödinger (FWF), APART or DOC fellowship (ÖAW) are excluded from the application. It is not possible to award the above scholarships together with a Fulbright scholarship at the same time.
  • As the Fulbright Scholarship is funded with funding from the BMWF, applications from Fulbright scholarship holders for other scholarships from the BMWF are not possible.
  • The award of the Fulbright Scholarship depends on the consent of the FSB (William Fulbright Scholarship Board) in Washington, DC. According to the guidelines of the FSB, applicants who are in the USA at the time of their application are generally excluded from the application. Candidates who do not have “extensive and recent experience” in the USA are preferred with equal qualifications.
